We recommend Coconut Chips for Orchids, a 100% Natural Coconut Fiber with Charcoal and Spongerock. We offer it in two sizes: MEDIUM for Miltoniopsis, Paphiopedilum, Oncidium and LARGE for Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Vanda
Some advantages over bark:
Drains well
Does not break down quickly
Aerates well
Easy to work with
Cost effective
Particularly effective in resisting rot, fungus and other infestations
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prior to use, soak potting media overnight, drain and rinse. Soak overnight a second time, drain and rinse.
2. Pot orchid in new pot and firmly pack potting media around roots. Remember, orchids like to be root bound, pots should be just a little larger then roots.
IMPORTANT: Coconut Chips are highly water retentive. Adjust watering accordingly. |
